Introducing HMZ, a Zine to be Seen

I haven’t written a post on The Hidden Me in a while. I could spend days writing about why and will end up updating with some new posts in 2024.

However, earlier in the fall of 2023 I realized I was sick and tired of looking at blogs, websites and yes I played with ChatGPT as well, but it’s all old. I get tired of searching an abundance of the internet for some simple connection while wading through ads and just random websites. No doubt there is definitely some very good uses for internet, but it tends to be very impersonal. I decided I wanted to work on new connections moving forward.

What I realized is I used to love Zines. Now they even have digitial options as well as physical options. I decided to try my hand at creating one and started working on my first. Completing my first Zine I found that it was a great experience that gave me amazing passion for working to create a safe space and designing my HMZ. I love writing and am eager for the day to find more time to write my books as well as now my Zines. For now, Zines can be time consuming but starting with a small design I can typically create a Zine to be seen without spending much time on it.

As I work on writing my 3rd Zine today, take time to check out the first two of my zines.

I think they are worth being seen.

Share what you think or if you are interested in contributing to these Zines. I am interesting in finding safe communities and spaces that can align with my Zines and to those that may be interested in contributing to them.

Men CAN Nail It with Nail Polish!

Nail polish has long been viewed as a cosmetic product exclusively for women. However, over the years, we’ve seen a growing trend of men wearing nail polish. And while some people may find this trend surprising or even controversial, there are actually some good reasons why men might want to consider wearing nail polish.

First and foremost, wearing nail polish is a great form of self-expression. Whether you’re a man or a woman, everyone wants to express themselves in meaningful ways. For men, wearing nail polish may be a way to show their personality, creativity, or simply make a fashion statement.

Moreover, nail polish can be worn for various occasions. For example, it’s not uncommon to see men wearing nail polish on special occasions like weddings or parties. There are even specific colors and designs that are specifically designed for men, which means that you’re sure to find something that matches your style and preferences.

Another thing to consider is the self-care aspect of wearing nail polish. Taking the time to paint your nails can be a relaxing and therapeutic activity. Plus, having well-groomed nails shows that you care about your appearance and hygiene.

There’s also the matter of breaking barriers and challenging gender norms. By wearing nail polish, men are challenging the idea that only women are allowed to wear it. This kind of pushback against gender stereotypes is essential for creating a more inclusive and equal society.

In conclusion, there are many reasons why men should feel free to wear nail polish if they want to. It can be a great way to express yourself, show off your creativity or personality, and even take care of yourself in a relaxing way. So, if you’re a man who’s curious about trying out nail polish, go for it! You might be surprised by how much you enjoy it.

Can A Man Be A Mechanic That Wears Skirts and Dresses?

Can A Man Be A Mechanic That Wears Skirts and Dresses?

Can A Man Be A Mechanic That Wears Skirts and Dresses?

The short answer is: absolutely. Clothing choices do not define one’s ability to perform a job or one’s gender identity. Society has come a long way in terms of gender inclusivity and acceptance of self-expression. In fact, a growing number of people are rejecting traditional gender norms, including the idea that certain professions are reserved for men or women.

Mechanics, for example, have historically been thought of as a male-dominated profession, with its emphasis on physical strength, technical skill, and practicality. This stereotype has contributed to a lack of diversity in the field, which can be limiting for those who are talented and passionate about the work, but don’t fit the mold.

However, it’s important to remember that mechanics come in all shapes, sizes, and gender identities. Whether wearing pants or skirts, dresses or suspenders, what really matters is the individual’s ability to perform their job duties safely and efficiently. Clothing has no bearing on one’s skills, experience, or knowledge.

That being said, it is essential for anyone, regardless of their gender identity or clothing preferences, to adhere to safety regulations and dress codes set by their employer. Mechanic work involves working with heavy machinery, tools, and chemicals, and safety should always be the top priority.

In summary, there is no reason why a man cannot be a mechanic, regardless of what type of clothing they choose to wear. It’s time to break down gender barriers and embrace diversity in all fields, including traditionally male-dominated professions.

High Heels are for ALL Humans

High heels have been a fashion statement for women for centuries, but what about men? Why is it that men are often ridiculed or discouraged from wearing high heels? In this post, we’ll explore some reasons why men should be able to wear high heels.

Firstly, high heels have no gender. They are simply a piece of footwear that can be worn by anyone. What’s important is that people feel comfortable and confident in what they wear, regardless of societal expectations or gender norms. By allowing men to wear high heels, we create a more inclusive and accepting society.

Secondly, high heels can make a statement. They can be a bold fashion choice that expresses one’s personality or individuality. By restricting this choice to only one gender, we limit the options available for self-expression.

Thirdly, high heels can be empowering. They can make the wearer feel taller, more powerful, and more confident. This should be a feeling accessible to all, regardless of gender.

Finally, it’s important to note that historically, high heels were originally worn by men. In fact, the first high heels were worn by men in the 10th century to help them ride their horses more comfortably. It wasn’t until the 17th century that they became a predominantly female fashion item. By allowing men to wear high heels today, we can embrace this historical tie and promote gender equality.

In conclusion, there is no reason why men shouldn’t be able to wear high heels. It’s simply a matter of breaking down gender norms and creating a more accepting and diverse society. Let’s embrace high heels for all genders and celebrate diversity in fashion.
